Fanbase Music Magazine is saddened to announce the passing of Soul Singer Bill Withers

According to a statement given by the singer’s family, Bill passed away from heart complications.

The Family statement reads as follows: “We are devastated by the loss of our beloved, devoted husband and father. A solitary man with a heart driven to connect to the world at large, with his poetry and music, he spoke honestly to people and connected them to each other. As private a life as he lived close to intimate family and friends, his music forever belongs to the world. In this difficult time, we pray his music offers comfort and entertainment as fans hold tight to loved ones.”

He is survived by his wife Marcia Johnson and their two children, Todd and Kori.

Bill Withers is mostly known for song-writing the well-known songs:  Lean on Me, Ain’t no Sunshine and Just the Two of Us, before retiring in the mid-1980s and staying out of the public eye.

Fanbase music magazine would like to extend our condolences to Bill Wither’s family, friends, fans and everyone who knew him.
