GRUNGE IS DEAD … OR IS IT REALLY? 2 FAR SOUTH THINK OTHERWISE WITH THEIR LATEST SINGLE “DOMINOES”

The grungy duo have released their latest single “Dominoes” Listen to the song HERE

The band were lucky enough to record the song right before the whole world went into lockdown from the Covid-19 Virus.

“Dominoes was fast becoming a crowd favourite at our live shows around Sweden and Germany, so it feels good to finally be able to share it with our fans again.” says Peter Pote the frontman of the band.

The video for “Dominoes” came about whilst curbing their quarantined boredom playing TV games. They discovered the PS1 game “No One Can Stop Mr. Domino!” Listening to final mixes of song whilst seeing all those dominoes falling into 32 bit oblivion seemed like a pretty good match. Its a crazy time to be alive, the world is at war with an invisible enemy. We can do our part saving lives by staying home, listening to music and playing TV games.

2 Far South is a 2 piece Grunge/Garage Rock band based in Sweden. Established in 2017.

Imagine if The White Stripes and Nirvana had a love child and it grew up listening to Led Zeppelin and Rage Against The Machine Riffs. Their sound is grunge-based but with a modern-day makeover, being formed by a wider range of influences than the genre’s pioneers.

The story goes that Peter Pote left South Africa and moved to Sweden in 2014 – after a stint with Evolver One where he shared the stage with the likes of 3 Doors Down, Snow Patrol, and Oasis – and met Johan Åberg, who had been drumming for various local bands, in the small town of Vittsjö. As all good band-forming stories go, all it took was a successful jam session for 2 Far South to come into this world.

The band released its debut album titled “Truth BE Told?” In 2018. Their latest release is an EP 20/20 Vision.

“It’s a melting pot of styles and influences that gives the grunge we know and love a contemporary swagger. Ditching the loud-soft-loud-soft formula that Nirvana and co. opted for, 2 Far South head in a more pop-oriented direction, a la Queens of the Stone Age.” Quoted from Texx and the city
