Jarrad Ricketts has won over the hearts of South Africans since the release of his SAMA-nominated debut album ‘Break The Rules’. Today he brings a message of hope with his first gospel single release entitled ‘You Are Lord’ – out now across all digital platforms.

After more than 5 weeks of lockdown, where fear and anxiety has crept into everyone’s lives, Jarrad Ricketts is using the power of music to restore faith in hearts and homes across the nation with his debut gospel offering ‘You Are Lord’.

What started out as Jarrad’s midnight prayer, became the inspiration that would see him piece together a melodic message of encouragement and hope in a time when it is truly needed most.

Over the last few years leading up to now, we have witnessed news covering so many social ills ranging from gender-based violence, brutal murders, missing youth, drugs and now the fast spreading global pandemic of the COVID-19 virus. Through all these destructive and disheartening messages, Jarrad felt compelled to write and record a revived message of God’s love and promise for all.

“As much as we are afraid and unsure of the future during these times, we must not forget that God has his hand over everyone and everything. Now is the time where we must lean on our faith to see us through,” and Jarrad’s faith has never been stronger than now.

‘You Are Lord’ is a powerful gospel anthem recorded with a four-piece live band and Jarrad Ricketts debuted his new gospel single with a live performance on the brand new KykNET television show “Koortjies met Jonathan Rubain” last night (Sunday, 3 May 2020).
