Belfast based singer / songwriter Owen Denvir is releasing his brilliant new single ‘This Could Be Love’. The single is taken from his forthcoming new EP ‘Stones’, the second in a trilogy of EP’s under a common theme that will form Owen’s debut album.
“This Could Be Love” is a primarily acapella indie/pop ballad. It’s about suddenly seeing a friend differently after dropping your guard during a weird dream. All the samples were created either through voice, audio glitches, vocoder or household objects while in lockdown in my home studio. The music video helped me to vent repressed desires of wanting to travel again – with stitched together stock footage from train windows around the world.

About the album, Owen says…”The album and EP trilogy idea is based on Sigmund Freud’s theory that personality is a sum of 3 parts: the Id (acting on raw impulse), the Ego (being terrified of consequences) and the Superego (the balance between the two).
The first EP (“Sticks”) deals with loss and delusion and the impulsive decisions we make while in the spell of ‘love’. The second (“Stones”) being a more confident but brash take on love, and finally the last EP (“Bones”) is when you have the balance between the two, which mostly leads to more healthy relationships .”
