Now’s your chance to spend an hour each week with an illustrious South African entertainer or creative in the industry, living and working abroad, from the comfort of your own home, getting to know what makes them tick, how they’ve achieved their success, what tough lessons they’ve learnt along the way, and so much more.

Tune into the brand new online chat show SPOTLIGHT ON… Hosted by the Queen of SA theatre herself, Kate Normington where she will chat to a new guest each week, who is currently “living the dream” internationally, and flying the SA flag high for us.

Viewers are encouraged to send in questions ahead of the show each week, asking the in-studio guest their burning question, making the show ideal for those wanting to learn more about the guest themselves, or the area of the industry they work in.

Says Co-Producer Collett Dawson; “We want this show to be more than a biography–driven interview. With Kate’s incredible work experience both locally and on the West End, we want to create a lounge-room style atmosphere, where the viewers get to know the person behind the success story of the guest while they chat to Kate. We want the viewers to get valuable insight into the entertainment industry and see not only the glamour, but the hard work, discipline, courage and perseverance it takes to “make it in the industry”.

Collett continues; “The viewers also get to ask specific questions for each guest, making it a show where they can take so much away from it, not just the entertainment value.”

Kicking off the new show with pizzazz and style is Broadway star AMRA-FAYE WRIGHT, joining us live from New York on Wednesday, 27 May at 20h00 (CAT).

Amra-Faye is known in some circles as Broadway’s own Charlize Theron. A powerhouse performer who grew up in East London and moved on to become one of Broadway’s most respected stars with her face instantly recognisable on billboards across Broadway as the high kicking murderess, Velma Kelly in the hit musical Chicago – a role she has performed internationally for over 20 years.
