Each week SPOTLIGHT ON… shines a light on an exceptional South African entertainer who is currently “living the dream” internationally, and flying the SA flag high for us. This week it will be Suanne Braun.
Hailing from Johannesburg, Suanne Braun became a household name in South Africa as one of the popular TV continuity presenters on MNET and then Bon Voyage.
Showing her versatility as an actress from the outset, she was also in constant demand for many TV and theatre roles before heading off to the USA.
While in Los Angeles, she notched up impressive TV credits including The West Wing, Silk Stalkings, Babylon, Whose Line is it Anyway and a role she still receives constant attention for many years later – Stargate.
London has been her home for the past 25 years, where she has thrived. You name it she’s done it all in theatre, television and film; from Mamma Mia to The Cherry Orchard, Summer of Rockets to The Princess Switch and so much more.
Her impressive affinity for accents and dialects and great comedic timing also ensures she is a much sought after voice over artist across the globe.
Suanne has traveled an impressive journey from South Africa to London, via Los Angeles and her star shows no sign of waning!
A true example of taking opportunities when presented, working hard at her craft and never giving up!
