Each week SPOTLIGHT ON… shines a light on exceptional South African entertainers who are currently “living the dream” internationally, and flying the SA flag high for us. This week it will be Paul Warwick Griffin and Gareth Hewitt Williams, chatting to charismatic host Kate Normington live from London.

With careers beginning in South Africa and now based in London, Paul Warwick Griffin and Gareth Hewitt Williams have extensive career credits to their name, individually as performers, Paul as a director, Gareth as a lighting designer and collectively as top-notch producers.

With offices in the UK and Australia, their company GWB Entertainment has been at the forefront of many major international hit touring shows including School of Rock, The Rocky Horror Show, Avenue Q, The King and I, Ghost the Musical, Britney Spears The Cabaret, Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth and Disney’s High School Musical amongst others.

GWB also provides general management to first class international tours of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s CATS and The Phantom of the Opera – one of the only shows currently still on stage, world wide, at the moment, in Seoul, South Korea.

These tours have taken them across the globe, performing in cities from Shanghai to Melbourne, Broadway to the West End, Seoul to Greece, all with the guaranteed high quality that GWB are synonymous for and passionate about.

Returning to South Africa as often as possible to produce or for Paul to direct, is of paramount importance to both Paul and Gareth, and local audiences have enjoyed first-hand, many of their world-class productions including Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Jesus Christ Superstar, CHESS, Hair – The Love Rock Musical, Matilda The Musical and more.

There’s no stopping these intrepid trailblazers that South Africa can still proudly call their own!
