Arno Carstens releases his highly anticipated new single “Go Easy Love” and kicks off the first of four Co. Lab shows with special musical guests
“Go Easy Love” out now HERE
South African singer-songwriter, Arno Carstens releases his highly anticipated new single, “Go Easy Love” which is out now across all digital platforms.
During lockdown, Arno kept himself busy in his home studio, writing and recording new music. Following on from the singles of 2019 and early 2020, Arno is offering fans of “Out of the Blue” and “Empire of the Night” more of where that came from.
Working remotely with Fred den Hartog and Dane Taylor of Taylor Soundworks, Arno says this of the new track: “Go Easy Love is a confessional song, the reflections of an unhappy partner; it’s about a relationship that’s on the edge and yet still salvageable through simultaneous acts of selflessness and tenderness.”
“Although the song is pretty straight forward, it still had its challenges, especially working around our collective lockdown restrictions. That said, we managed to deliver a fun, emotionally complex and beat-driven song that a lot of people will possibly relate to.”

“Go Easy Love” forms part of a 10-part collage of music that Arno will continue to release over the reaming months of 2020. The previous releases of 2019, which include the tracks “Lift my Spirit”, “Empire of the Night” (a finalist at the 2019 US International Song Writing Competition), “Don’t Let it Be”, “Out of the Blue”, “Midnight Screams” and “Erupt” will be included in this eclectic assembly.
Although not a studio album in the traditional sense, Arno’s intention is to present a complete body of work before the end of the year, with the understanding that sometimes “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts”. The bigger picture connects Arno’s love of energised alt-pop production on one side of the spectrum, with his ability to craft anthemic acoustic driven ballads on the other.
The forthcoming music video for “Go Easy Love” was directed by Lionel Smit, a South African artist who pursues his craft in all manner of media with areas dedicated to sculpture, painting and printmaking.
The music video premieres on YouTube on 25 September 2020.
To celebrate not only the launch of the new single, but also the amazing spirit of South Africa in general, coming together during this otherwise devastating year; Arno has put together a four-part storytelling and live music performance series that explores the themes of inspiration and collaboration.
The Carstens And Co. Lab series will be broadcast live to your living room, every Saturday from 12 September through to 3 October 2020. Each week Arno, along with a guest artist, will perform in an intimate setting, exploring the stories behind the music.
