Destiny Band Oz- Who I Might Be album review

Review Done By: Duzzy Clayton

In the line of work I do, I am often sent many new albums to review. Some are good, some are bad; but ever so often you get something that is great. This is what landed in my email box from the Australian Band Destiny Band Oz.

Destiny Band Oz is a multi-award winning duo comprising husband and wife singer-songwriters, Thomas and Tessa Libreri. They are currently based in Gippsland Australia.

Who I Might Be is the new album from Destiny Band Oz; with the album being made up of 10 impressive tracks. While it is hard to pigeonhole this band, comparing them to other sounds, I would say they have sounds resembling Country, Rock and Pop all combined in one. What I appreciate about this band and its songs, and particularly this album, is that everything is so beautifully written from the lyrics to the music. Tessa’s voice is amazing and each song takes you on an entrancing journey.

This album will make an excellent playlist playing in the background while enjoying Christmas dinner with the family; or if you are just sitting by the fire in pleasant solitude and want to hear something beautiful and enchanting.

Speaking of Christmas, be sure to check out track 2 of the album, called ‘It’s the Gift’. This is actually the latest single released from the album and it has a really beautiful spiritual message in the song; it is actually one of my favourite songs off the album. Other songs off the album worth mentioning are ‘This is our land’, ‘Show Pony’, ‘Mistakes’ and ‘All alone’ in my opinion. I certainly wouldn’t skip too many songs as the whole album is great to listen to from start to finish, with each song bringing something special to the table.

So, if you’re looking for amazing laid-back and also vibing music with lovely lyrics, thrilling guitar licks and solos, and a beautiful voice to die for, then you need look no further than Destiny Band Oz-Who I Might Be.

Well done to Tessa and Thomas, as well as everyone else who has worked on the album; it is truly a masterpiece and definitely a must-have for all music lovers’ CD Collections.
