Quiz Master Production’s Quiz at Irish Rock Little Falls
The 26th of January will see Irish Rock start their Quiz Night league. Teams will be playing for a twenty thousand rand prize. Prizes will be on offer every Wednesday night to the top three teams of the night, with a total team leader log allowing teams to qualify for the final to be held at Irish Rock Little Falls on the 26th of June. The final will be split into two halves, the top half and the bottom half. Here teams will be competing in the top half for six thousand rand; four thousand rand and two thousand rand respectively; while in the bottom half they will be competing for one thousand; two thousand and three thousand respectively. Each team to qualify for the final will automatically receive one hundred rand. Entrance on each night is free with food and drinks specials on offer.
As a warm up to the league Irish Rock Little Falls hosted an all-music quiz on the 12th of January and an all-Marvel themed quiz on the 19th of January. The music quiz saw songs being used as voted for by people who have taken part in quizzes across the various pubs at which Quiz Master has operated. This saw an eclectic catalogue of songs ranging from classical to heavy metal. The night saw a fairly large number of teams competing with leads switching hands frequently amongst the five rounds. There were also some clearly sing-along numbers too, from both local and international artists. The Marvel quizzes are always popular seeing a lot of teams taking part.as well as people dressing up and vying for the prize and title of the best dressed.
Irish Rock Little Falls is a fairly large pub restaurant with plenty of safe and secure parking. Their menu is fairly diverse with several local and international beers on tap and a few craft beers too. The large deck area overlooking a wetland is begging to be taken advantage of on these warm summer nights.
The quizzes will return to the normal format once the league has commenced and will take place every Wednesday until the final. There are five rounds made up of general knowledge; sports and leisure; science and geography; music and movies and television. Your score for the highest round is doubled and added to your total. Teams taking part can have a maximum of 6 members. While it should go without saying that cheating is not permitted, and that this is not a game of fastest fingers, sadly one always has to be on the lookout.
An exciting season is soon to start and we hope to see you there.
