Track Review: Scanner- Witches Moon

Review Done By: Duzzy Clayton

If you haven’t heard of Scanner yet, then you’re in for a treat. I’ve been a fan of the band for about 6 years now, as I first came to know of lead singer Joe ‘Sirborg’ Brady and his band, Scanner, when I was the lunch DJ on SME Fusion Radio; although the band has been in existence since the 70’s.

I have been a fan ever since; and it gives me great pleasure to introduce to you their single called Witches’ Moon.

Witches’ Moon is an ‘in-your-face’ jam-packed punk song from start to finish. I love Joe’s vocals on the track; and one of the cool things about the track and Joe’s voice is that he really tells the story of what the song is about.

As well as vocals, Joe also plays bass, which is something awesome to be heard on this track. The guitar and drums (guitar played by Junnie Fortney – Ray Hawkins on drums) sound great and I particularly like the lead solo which kind of sounds as if you’re going on a space adventure.

If you know anything about Scanner, it’ll be that they love things like monsters, Space, witches etc.; and I feel that this song captures everything you need to know about the band’s sound.

There is also an audio version of the song on YouTube which you can check out there. Don’t forget to like and subscribe to the band’s YouTube channel.

When I think of Scanner’s music, and this song in particular, I can imagine listening to it while on a long road trip; or even if you’re throwing a cool house party and want to liven up the mood.

“Witches’ Moon” can be found on the Album Horror Hits, which is an album worth checking out as well!

Well done to Scanner on yet another great track and I look forward to everything else this awesome band would release.

Song Lyrics

In the Autumn moon’s eerie glow

Shadows long and dark, they grow

Skin begins to swell and crawl

Eyes on fire, and hands to claws

In the light of the witches’ moon

In the ghoulish, blue-white glow

Where the spirits sing and play

In the light of the witches’ moon

Stalking from the edge of the night

Howling at the witches’ moon

Supernatural transformation

Cursed Lycanthropic wound

In the light of the witches’ moon

In the ghoulish, blue-white glow

Where the spirits sing and play

In the light of the witches’ moon

In the light of the witches’ moon

In the ghoulish, blue-white glow

Where the spirits sing and play

In the light of the witches’ moon

In the light of the witches’ moon

In the light of the witches’ moon!
