Single Track Review: Girl King – He Shall Never Fail Me
GirlKing, whose real name is Ntombinkosi “Ntombi” Mncube, is a South African Gospel musician, who has just released the first of two singles. The first song she has released and the one we’ll be reviewing first is called ‘He shall Never Fail Me’.
GirlKing, who is a very talented Gospel singer, gave her life to the Lord at a young age. She learnt the art of leading Praise & Worship whilst singing in the Church Choir under the Ministry of the late Bishop Mzimela. In my opinion, no matter what kind of music you’re into or what religion you follow, there is no mistaking that GirlKing has an amazing voice and an extremely beautiful talent. Her first single ‘He Shall Never Fail Me’, which is set to be released on a new album out in August, is a beautiful soulful funky track. Everything about GirlKing’s track screams amazing from the beautiful lyrics to the great sounds of the music. Upon first listen to the track I suddenly felt all warm inside and was overcome by a great feeling that instantly put me in a good mood. I am not sure if it is her voice or the words that urge one to stand and worship The Lord, but something touched me in a cool way that was awesome to experience.
When I first read the bio I was expecting a beautiful BUT slow worship track; but I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the upbeat sound of this track. Upbeat enough to make you want to dance or tap your feet but respectful enough to also be a moving worship song.
So, if Worship and Gospel music is your thing, then GirlKing’s track ‘He shall never fail me’ is a must-have for your collection.
Her new single “He Shall Never Fail Me” is available now on all platforms, and is taken from her upcoming album ‘The Best Thing in the World’ (that will be released on 5 August).
I can picture myself listening to this song when I’m feeling low and want to be lifted up to a good mood; or maybe listening to it on a Sunday Morning just before going to a Church Service. I want to congratulate GirlKing on this new track and I urge her to carry on what she is doing, because the amazing thing about music is, it can be a great tool to touch many lives and lift up people’s spirit.
