When Angels Came is my new favourite band at the moment, they are a progressive rock band which is the auditory brainchild of Jacques van der Merwe, started during the pandemic to stay productive. It quickly evolved into a creative hub for new songs, as well as an opportunity to revisit old demo tracks. The inspiration duly ignited, and Jacques was able to work on fresh ideas and vocal melodies. The band was subsequently officially formed in 2021.

The band have just released their new single called Color In Blind which is everything you would want a rock song to be, the song starts clean and bit slow but then swiftly moves into overdrive and more rocking. Upon first listen I kind of got a Prime Circle kind of a feeling especially with the vocals but as the song went on I could hear influences and sounds of similar to Seether and Breaking Benjamin. Not that they are copying these bands because they definitely got their own unique sound.

Color in Blind is a perfect rock song that would actually in my opinion do very well on radio stations all over the world, and I can see just that, the song is really awesome and is going to open some doors for the band.’

What I like about the song, apart from the rocking sound of guitars, drums and vocals, I also like the lyrics of the song, it kind of gives me a feel-good feeling and instantly put me in a good mood. I could also picture myself attending one of When Angels Came gigs and hearing this song live must be and is going to be such a cool moment for both the band and the crowd because it is one of those songs you can rock out to and also sing along to. That is the great thing about music I think. It can touch people in so many ways and I just feel listening to this song live is going to be a great experience for not only the crowd but the band also because they going to see what a hit it is when a crowd of concert goers are going to be singing along with the song. I am really going to keep my eye on this band and see when they are playing live next because I really want to be part of that crowd.
