The Ardents- Memories Return
Reviewed By Duzzy Clayton
Can you believe The Ardents have gone and done it again?
Hot off the heels of the band’s last album called Come On, the band have just released another great feel good track called ‘Memories Return’. I was expecting great things for the band’s next release, and I can honestly say The Ardents did not disappoint.
Upon first listening to ‘Memories Return’, the song starts with a great sensual feeling that seems to go on and on throughout the song.
Memories Return has easily become one of my favourite tracks and this is coming from someone who enjoyed the whole of the last album from start to finish. The song is a laid-back, slow track and, like I mentioned earlier, kind of gives you that sensual feeling.
One thing that really stands out on this track is, yet again, the amazing vocals, which I seem to think on every track. In my opinion The Ardents can put out a very sad song, but the vocals and music, together with the band’s distinctive sound somehow puts you in a good mood.
I am not too sure if you readers know a thing about ‘binaural beats’ and ‘music frequencies’, but I think somehow The Ardents have stumbled on a sound that somehow touches a cord or a nerve that hits the happy endorphin inside the brain, a very hard thing to accomplish, and The Ardents seem to do it seamlessly.
The band also have the ability to get a song stuck in your head, ever since I heard this track I find myself humming or singing this song, long after I have heard it. In my opinion this is always a good sign for if a track is going to do well.
It reminds me of when many years ago I first heard Grace Kelly by Mika before it became a big hit. I had a similar feeling then, the chorus got stuck in my head and I remember thinking to myself this song is good, catchy and is going to be a big hit, exactly the feeling I get whenever I hear the music of The Ardents. This band is destined for big things.
When I think to myself when will be the best time and place to listen to this track, I picture myself listening while preparing some kind of awesome dinner with a glass of wine in hand and experimenting with different seasonings and ingredients. Not knowing the end goal but wholly enjoying the process.
I say this because often cooking a meal this way is I imagine the same kind of process of putting a track like this together, and the end result is somewhat amazing.
I would like to congratulate The Ardents on yet another great track, and to you the listener please please take note of this band, thank me later, you won’t be disappointed.
