When Angels Came- About you

When Angels Came is fast becoming one of my favourite bands at the moment! The band has just released a new awesome track called ‘About You’.

When Angels Came is the mastermind of South African/Dutch Rock singer Jacques Van Der Merwe and I think he is about to take the world by storm with his new single.

‘About You’ has everything you want in a Rock song: great riffs, awesome bass and hard-hitting drums, and fantastic vocals. This song also has some great lyrics that are not only meaningful but also catchy. I suspect fans all around the world are going to be singing and rocking out to this song as soon as they hear it.

Speaking of people listening to this track around the world, I think this song is going to do very well on radio stations and I would be very surprised if there is a Rock station out there that declined to add it to their playlist.

‘About You’ is the type of song you can listen to on your own when you just want to rock out while cleaning the house or driving in your car, but I think it will also be an awesome track to add to the playlist if you are hanging out with friends or even at a party and needing songs to add to a Rock playlist.

Another thing when listening to this song is that I am amazed at Jacques’s voice and vocal range. He has a real Rock voice and I wish I could see him perform live on this project of the band ‘When Angels Came’ because I can just imagine what a rocking show it will be.

When asked about what the track actually means, Jacques shares that “Sometimes we can blindly get caught up in ourselves, and selfishly leave loved ones and friends behind on the grind to get to the top. Then, when you get there, you realise you are alone, and the sacrifice was too big and not worth it. It’s pointless being there alone, and not having anyone to share it with. It is important to always maintain a healthy balance. Work, family, and friends must always be balanced, intertwined, and connected, to provide happiness and meaningful fulfilment. If you sacrifice your friends and family, you will only end up alone at the top, which is pointless and depressing. Use your time wisely, as it is not just about you!”

I am so excited about this track and this project; and I really look forward to what the future holds for ‘When Angels Came’ because if this is the type of music that is being produced then the future of South African Rock looks bright.

I would like to congratulate Jacques and everyone else who worked on this track. It truly makes me “proudly South African” and this track might just be what is needed to put South African Rock music on the world-wide map, just as Seether did back in the early 2000’s.
