Talks To Fanbase Music Magazine About Her New Single, Up Coming EP and Recording With B Side Recording

Intro

Charlotte French is a talented singer songwriter from Sussex, England who fuses a retro power ballad style vocal with modern pop. Her debut EP ‘Walking Free’, an empowering collection of songs with the overarching theme of moving forward in life and leaving toxicity behind, experiments with fusing a sleek pop sound with influences from the noughties and combines modern production with the nostalgia of vintage recording techniques which results in a rich EP with plenty of ambience. Charlotte is definitely making an entrance into the pop scene, with international radio plays of Say My Name before the title single has yet released.

Hi Charlotte, welcome to Fanbase Music Magazine, can you start of by telling us what what got you into music?

I have loved music since I was knee high. Since a little girl I have sung at every chance I could get. I started training seriously in vocals at the age of ten and my passion has just continued to grow stronger ever since.

How would you describe your sound and genre?

POP definitely!

What are some of the bands you grew up listening to and what forms your musical taste today?

Whitney Houston and Christina Agularia have greatly inspired me for sure and had a great influence on me musically. Band wise definitely Black Eyed Peas, Lady Antebellum, Queen, Banners & Keane

You have a single coming out called ‘Say My Name’ Can you tell us what the song is about?

Say My Name is a personal song and is inspired by a breakup. The song signifies coming through the other side of a breakup and no longer being close with someone you spent a lot of time with.

Where was it recorded and who worked on the album?

We recorded the EP at B Side studios in London. It’s been such an incredible journey and I continue to enjoy working with Bside Recording Label. Producer, Hollie and Sound Designer, Archie played big parts within the writing and recording process of my EP. Overall the whole Bside team have been incredible!

What was the recording process like?

I have loved every step of the writing and recording process. Nothing beats stepping into the studio and singing your own material- so rewarding and fulfilling!

When is the track expected to come out?

Say My Name is set to be released on 21/04/23!!! So not long now!

Will there be an album that the track will appear on?

So my single will appear on my EP ‘Walking Free’ that is due to be released on Saturday 20th May!
