The Blend Coffee Shop│Deli│Wine Boutique will be hosting an intimate afternoon with beautiful food and amazing local wines in the back garden of 46 Voortrekkker Road, McGregor. The theme for this cozy winter event is Red & Sweet Wine.
We are delighted to bring the best of Cape’s Red & Sweet wine producers together and cannot wait to recreate the magic of the inaugural Bubby Festival we held at the end of March,” says Benita Gouws, owner of The Blend. “We will also have a great selection of local food available on the day and you can even buy food vouchers online for this event, NO QUEUES! We will have Beef Bourguignon, Seafood Gumbo, the best of Cape Town’s El Churros, Gluwein and so much more to accompany the great selection of wines on show.”
The Misty Cliffs will be playing during the festivities. The popular trio features well-known artists Nick Turner (Guitar/Vocals), Nick Catto (Bass/Vocals), and Matt Catto (Drums/Percussion/Vocals). Their latest single “Don’t Complicate It” will be one of the songs in their repertoire. “It is an upbeat, feel-good track with a South African vibe that we’ve poured our hearts and soul into. We’re super proud of how it turned out and I think you’re going to love it!” says Nick Catto, who recently moved to McGregor with his family. “As an artist, I am always in search of the elusive ‘je ne sais quoi’, that special quality that is impossible to describe but deeply felt. This ineffable spirit is what led my wife, our young son, and I to McGregor last year. The village, quaint in its beauty and graced with the unhurried pace of rural life, beckoned to us as we searched for a new place to call home. Picturesque landscapes, genuine community, and an underlying vibrancy were exactly what we were searching for. The Blend, the village’s awesome deli and coffee shop, perfectly embodies this vibe and offers a true sense of what it means to be a part of a community. We love hanging out there, connecting with whoever we bump into on the day, and soaking up that elusive something (and plenty of coffee!).”
Guitarist and songwriter, Nick Turner, adds: “Don`t Complicate It,” is a reminder to us all, to savor every moment and accept the things we cannot change. Despite all the trying times and adversities, we endure on this rocky road we call life, the scattered precious moments and treasured memories we collect along the way make it all worthwhile.”
