“It’s more than a title” says Miss Teen Earth 2023 Chloé-Jade Christian
There has always been a lot of controversy around beauty pageants, especially when it comes to young ladies. They are often critiqued for placing too much emphasis on physical appearance and in some cases objectifying women.
While undeniably beautiful, newly announced Miss Teen Earth 2023, Chloé-Jade Christian wants to rewrite the narrative and place emphasis on the things that really matter.
She says, “I am determined to contribute my skills, passion, and voice towards protecting the Earth for future generations to come.”
The International Pageant, Miss Teen Earth is a subdivision of World South Africa Pageants and was created to empower young women to actively make a sustainable difference in the fight against the destruction of our natural heritage.
Chloé-Jade echoes this ethos stating, “The opportunity to serve as Miss Teen Earth South Africa is not merely a title but a commitment. I understand the power of education and the vital role it plays in creating a sustainable future. As Miss Teen Earth South Africa, I am devoted to promoting environmental education in schools and communities, empowering young minds with knowledge, and inspiring them to become the stewards of our planet.”
‘We only have one planet, let’s look after it’ say World South Africa Pageants. This is a very pertinent call to action to all of us who inhabit the earth.
Chloé-Jade continues, “One of the key aspects of my mission is to promote sustainable lifestyle choices and encourage others to adopt eco-friendly practices. I believe that every individual has the power to contribute in their own unique way, and I am dedicated to inspiring others to take action through education, outreach, and real-life initiatives.”
Humbled by this opportunity, Chloé-Jade is filled with a deep sense of purpose and motivation to make a positive difference in the world.
To further her support and commitment to the planet, Chloé-Jade actively participates in environmental clean-up campaigns and conservation projects. These include, but are not limited, to organizing community clean-ups, volunteering for local environmental organizations as well as participating in tree-planting initiatives.
“Start small and dream big,” she says, “from conserving water and electricity to reducing waste and promoting recycling.”
She further leverages her social media platforms to amplify environmental messages and engage with a wider audience. It is also a place for her to collaborate with like-minded individuals and organizations.
