Renowned South African singer-songwriter and producer Lee Cole is set to make a triumphant return to the music scene with the highly awaited release of his single “Blind” on February 23, 2024. On his debut, Lee Cole achieved a breakthrough with hit singles such as “I Don’t Wanna Wait,” and later, “Pink Dragons,” “Honey, Let Me In,” “No Fear No Tears,” and “With or Without You,” which received extensive airplay on leading South African radio stations. His performances at the SAFTAs, participation in prominent festivals, multiple chart-toppers, and the prestigious opportunity of opening for international superstar Calum Scott have solidified his standing as a prominent figure in the South African music scene.

Now, following a year-long period of songwriting, touring, and strategic planning, Lee Cole is set to captivate audiences once again with his emotionally-stirring vocals and profound lyrics. “Blind” is a song that has been in the works for quite some time, and it revolves around the idea of vulnerability and openness in relationships. In this day and age, there’s a growing sentiment that many people have started to hold back and not fully open up in relationships, and this song delves into that”, says Cole.

Influenced by rock legends Queen and AC/DC, as well as pop icon Michael Jackson, Lee Cole’s distinctive sound blends pop with remnants of R&B/Soul, creating a genre-defying musical experience.

I searched for love out there in the stars

Wasn’t ready

The sun burnt me

But I’m close to heaven now I’m in your arms

But love is heavy

So keep me steady.”

(Lyrics from Blind by Lee Cole)

Behind the scenes, the strategic planning over the past year has been spearheaded by his manager Marco Gomes, founder and bassist for Prime Circle. Having traversed the globe and collaborated with numerous talented artists, Gomes recognises Lee’s unique X FACTOR. Working closely with Lee has afforded Marco profound insights into Lee’s music, work ethic, songwriting, producing skills and dynamic stage presence that captivates audiences.

Gomes remarks, “Lee’s approach to a song and his distinctive views on music set him apart in a league of his own. His genuine nature, which I now consider a friendship, coupled with his exceptional qualities, positions him to achieve success beyond our wildest imagination. It’s this combination of factors that truly defines a star,” adds Gomes.

As Cole reflects on the years that have passed, he is grateful to be living out his dream. “‘Blind’ is just the beginning of a beautiful and exciting journey, and I am eager to unfold it with all of you. Your support means the world to me, and I can’t wait to share this new chapter in my musical exploration,” concludes Cole.
