Meet The Talon: A New Voice in Cape Town’s Hardcore/Metal Scene
Introducing The Talon, a burgeoning force coming from the eclectic landscape of Cape Town’s underground music scene. Fuelled by a fervent passion for music that goes hard and fast, The Talon brings forth a dynamic blend of influences, infusing the raw energy of modern hardcore acts like Kublai Khan TX and Knocked Loose with the gritty rock tones of acts such as Cancer Bats, Every Time I Die, and He is Legend.
With their debut single, “Hateful Thing,” The Talon embarks on a journey to disrupt the status quo. Available now for streaming on Spotify and Bandcamp, “Hateful Thing” was recorded by Dean Bailey and Marku Boshoff, and mixed and mastered by Sasha Bowers. Accompanying the release is a self-produced music video, a testament to The Talon’s DIY roots, now available for viewing on YouTube.
“’Hateful Thing’ is a personal reflection,” says Scott Miller, vocalist of The Talon. “It’s a reflection on navigating the cycles of self-loathing, fatigue, and isolation.”
