Irish Singer/Songwriter Shirley Callaghan Set To Release Palestine Protest Single ‘Baby Blue’- Out 12th April

Shirley Callaghan writes from the heart, channeling trauma, manipulation, and turmoil to create poignant melodic memoirs that cut through the noise of existence to address real-world issues.

Having already touched on modern themes of loss and disappointment in her debut release ‘Ice Queen’, which also dealt with an obsession with control and entitlement, she moved on to narcissists & how they affect their victims in the follow-up ‘Safety Deposit Box’.

The artist describes her latest single ‘Baby Blue’ as a protest song where she expresses her outrage at children starving & the seemingly criminal behavior of world leaders either participating in the violence or standing idly by as innocent people suffer.

Shirley is influenced by artists such as Kate Bush, Sinead O’Connor, PJ Harvey, Bob Dylan & Michael Stipe, and has been favorably compared to Dolores O’Riordan with Fanbase Music Magazine calling her “One of the best musicians to come out of Ireland since The Cranberries”.

In 2023, she completed a two-year songwriting course with the Songwriting Academy of London which is where she met multiplatinum songwriter and producer Paul Statham.

Since then, she’s been writing and recording a number of tracks to release an EP/Album later this year.

Expect big things from this artist over the coming months.  Her music can be described as hypnotic, strikingly haunting, dark, and atmospheric.
