Vibrant rock duo Future Radio has joined forces with acclaimed singer-songwriter Christiaan Baartman to unveil the acoustic version of their latest single, I’ll Be Okay, set for release on Friday, 28 June. This tender and introspective take on the song offers a fresh perspective, contrasting with the energetic rock sounds of the original version.
The acoustic rendition of I’ll Be Okay showcases the combined talents of both acts, with Christiaan Baartman’s commanding vocals seamlessly blending with Future Radio’s signature melodic style. This intimate version strips the song down to its emotional core, featuring gentle acoustic melodies and heartfelt lyrics that invite listeners to reflect and connect on a deeper level. The acoustic arrangement promises to captivate audiences with its raw and authentic appeal.
Reflecting on the acoustic version, Future Radio’s frontman and songwriter, Johnny, remarks, “In arranging the acoustic version, I wanted to reach listeners who might not typically engage with Future Radio. This version is much more earthy and less extravagant than the rock version—more intimate and less energetic.”
Christiaan Baartman, known for his singer-songwriter repertoire, expressed his excitement about this acoustic endeavour: “The acoustic version allowed us to explore a more intimate and tender side of the song, which is right down my alley. I’m thrilled with how it turned out.”
With over 18 years of experience in the music industry, Christiaan Baartman is celebrated as one of South Africa’s top artists, renowned for his powerful voice and musical talent. His innovative efforts during the pandemic, including pioneering live online shows and releasing various hit Afrikaans singles, have earned him acclaim and a devoted fan base.
Future Radio made their mark on the music scene in 2020 with their debut album, “Freedom,” followed by “Identity” in 2023. Comprising songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist Johnny Future, alongside guitarist and visual artist Drikus Roets, the band crafts a distinct sound they proudly call “Future Rock.”
With both acts boasting a track record of success on editorial playlists, the acoustic version of I’ll Be Okay is set to resonate with listeners, offering a beacon of introspection and emotional connection.
