FRENCH FOR SOMETHING
‘BACK IN TIME’
NEW SINGLE OUT NOW
Meet French for Something, the folky, funky indie rock band from sunny Aberdeen. You might not recognise us since Liam got a haircut, Stephen took his hat off, and Nervous caught a terrible case of bass-face. We broke onto the music scene earlier this year with our catchy debut single ‘What’s Coming Next’, which took us all the way to…Turriff. Since then, we’ve enjoyed some success in our short time together, notably supporting The Hubbards in Glasgow, and headlining The Market Bar Inverness. But our appetite is salacious, so we’ve reached into the bag and pulled out something a little more…bodacious.

“Our second single, and the (self-certified) catchiest bassline from Aberdeen! ‘Back in Time’ combines an ambiguous exploration of nostalgia with an intimate account of troubled relationships, under the guise of a highly danceable sing-along. The single leans into its title with tasteful lead guitar, reminiscent of hits by Echo and the Bunnymen or Roxy Music, and mastered with 80’s warmth. ‘Back in Time’ is also deceptively complex in its arrangement – what may initially come across as a catchy four-chord song boasts a series of funky bass runs, pokey drum fills, and a share-the-spotlight bass/guitar lick straight from the live show” – French For Something
