Eli Taylor is back with another emotion-evoking single and video, “Overthinker”, dropping November 29, 2024. It’s the follow-up to his very well-received single and video, “Pick-Up Sticks”, garnering over 67k plays on YouTube.

The singer-songwriter based out of Englewood, FL., dug deep when it came to writing this song, revisiting past, intense feelings. ‘“Overthinker”, is a song about the strongest, most painful, and confusing love I have ever felt. It’s about the mistakes I made, the regret I felt, the indecision and the bad decisions, the indecision being a bad decision, and the thoughts that were breaking the sound barrier inside my head.”

Eli has his own, unique musical style incorporating a mix of multiple genres, but mainly Indie-rock or Indie-pop, although he finds that his sound is always changing and morphing into something different. He is also inspired by other bands including The Backseat Lovers, “I take inspiration from their constant use of dynamics, interesting chords, rhythms, melodies, and riffs that all work well together. They have a fun and original sound that I appreciate.”

Although Eli is building upon his catalog of songs, he has already received a positive response from the release of his first single, “I got a lot of support from old friends, new friends, and my family, which I am very grateful for. The “Pick-Up Sticks” lyric video also got more love than I had expected. It led me to work on the music video for “Overthinker”.

Currently, Eli is improving his songwriting, playing shows, and collecting songs for the next album. In the near future, there will be two more singles, and then, the Tire Swing EP will be out for everyone to hear.
