Irish Rock Quiz League Finals: A Thrilling End to the 2024 Season

As the year draws to a close, so too does the highly anticipated 2024 Irish Rock Quiz League, hosted by Quiz Master Productions. The Irish Rock Pub in Little Falls played host to the final of three league finals for the year, bringing together 20 teams from across the Irish Rock Pubs to compete for the grand prize of R25,000.
Once again, Shaun made the trip up from KwaZulu-Natal to serve as the Quizmaster, and though he jokingly claimed that this was the easiest final he’d ever written, the event proved otherwise. With tricky questions designed to challenge even the most seasoned quiz teams, there was no shortage of tension throughout the day. The hot summer weather didn’t deter a packed pub full of participants and spectators, all eager to see who would come out on top.
As expected, the final was a hard-fought battle, with the leaderboard constantly shifting between rounds. The decisive moment came in the final round, where the category of TV, Movies, and Celebrities ultimately determined the winners. After a tense few moments, the champions were announced, and prizes were awarded, marking the conclusion of another exciting season.
Of course, no quiz is complete without some fun and banter. After the final, Shaun made a quick dash to the airport, and rumours swirled about whether he was driven by Roodepoort’s hardest-working comedian and Uber driver — a fun nod to the local community spirit that defines these events.
As always, the Irish Rock Pub remains the top destination for sports fans in Roodepoort. The 7s were screened live, and to help everyone celebrate (or commiserate) the outcome of the quiz league, there was a fantastic performance by Hunter Leite.
Though the official quiz league season has come to an end, quizzes will continue at the Irish Rock until the 18th of December. While these sessions won’t count toward league points, there are still plenty of prizes to be won, including the Joker Draw, which boasts a grand prize of over R25,000.
